Criel Mound - South Charleston, West Virginia

This large mound is in a park surrounded by a very busy urban area. There are several historical markers displaying information about the site and the Adena culture.

Ais Mound - Fort Pierce, Florida

February 2023

The single mound is set a grove of palms and live oaks overlooking the Indian River Lagoon. Visiting the nearby St. Lucie County Aquarium gave me an appreciation of the rich ecosystem in the area.
